Preserve Unimpaired

Preserve Unimpaired

Oil paint on wood. This piece is inspired by Bierstadt. For this painting, I reimagined one of his iconic scenes directly onto a National Park Service sign—a symbol of the conservation movement he helped spark. The Hudson River School’s influence played a quiet but crucial role in influencing the creation of the first national parks. I’ve entitled this piece “Preserve Unimpaired,” based of the core values of the NPS stated in the National Park Service Organic Act of 1916.
